Making a difference.

Through the generosity of countless volunteers and donors, the CDA Foundation has helped so many Californians in need through its two flagship programs; CDA Cares and the Student Loan Repayment Program. In addition, the CDA Foundation has provided dental materials and supplies grants to community-based organizations to help provide access to care for California's most vulnerable citizens.

If you forgot to register online for CDA Cares Solano, April 25-26, you can still volunteer. Dentists and dental professionals are needed for Friday, April 25 at the Solano County Fairgrounds, 900 Fairgrounds Drive, Vallejo. Go to volunteer registration at McCormick Hall. The goal of CDA Cares is to relieve pain and infection and educate the public and policymakers about the importance of good oral health and the need for an adequately funded dental safety net. Since 2012, the CDA Cares volunteer dental program has provided $6 million in care to more than 8,000 patients.

Several major sponsors, through in-kind donations and resources, are stepping up to make sure CDA Cares Solano provides the most oral health care possible to patients in need. CDA Cares Solano will be held at the Solano County Fairgrounds on April 25-26 with the help of hundreds of volunteer dental professionals and other community volunteers. On top of volunteers, the CDA Foundation relies heavily on the financial support of its sponsors. Solano County, First 5 Solano, the Del E. Webb Foundation and Kaiser Permanente in Napa and Solano counties all are donating and/or matching funds up to $20,000 or more, for a total of $160,000.

Dentists interested in implementing Caries Management By Risk Assessment (CAMBRA) strategies into their practice will have some training available to them at CDA Presents The Art and Science of Dentistry in Anaheim. Jean L. Creasey, DDS, will lead a lecture titled Preventing Your Way to Success ... Implementing CAMBRA in Private Practice on Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16, at the Anaheim Convention Center.
