Dr. Isaac Navarro

Family Healthcare Network, Orosi

Dr. Navarro was raised in the Central San Joaquin Valley. His father died when he was very young, leaving his mother with the difficult task of raising he and his siblings. This challenging upbringing left him with an understanding and deep compassion for the struggles of underserved communities.

Dr. Navarro attended California State University, Fresno and attended dental school at Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. He also holds a graduate certificate in public health from the University of North Carolina.

In addition to his challenging upbringing, Dr. Navarro credits his time at Arizona School of Dentistry as flaming his passion for serving in a community clinic. “My dental school’s fourth year curriculum is designed for students to spend more than twenty weeks rotating through community health centers all over the country,” says Dr. Navarro. “In these clinical rotations we have the opportunity to provide dental care as well as learn the processes and workings of the various types of community health centers.” He landed, however, at a community clinic, close to his hometown of Visalia in Orosi, at the Family Healthcare Network.

The patient base at Family Healthcare constitutes more than twenty percent of the population and serves Tulare and King Counties. “I see no better way to be able to reach out to my hometown community and affect the lives of individuals who wouldn’t necessarily have the means and ability to seek healthcare else where. The CDA Foundation Student Loan Repayment Grant allows me to focus on delivering quality healthcare to individuals in need, like Maria, without worrying about student loan debt.” says Dr. Navarro.
