Dr. Nam Hoang
Having faced extreme challenges coming over to the United States in 1981 as a Vietnamese boat person with his mother and three sisters, Dr. Hoang proudly states they along with the rest of their family, were seeking freedom and education. And, that according to Dr. Hoang, is exactly what he found.
After graduating from the University of the Pacific (UOP), School of Dentistry in 2004 and UOP’s Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry with Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2005, Dr. Hoang began working at the Chapa-De Indian Health Program, Inc., in Auburn.
As a 2007 Student Loan Grant Recipient, he continues to work at this community clinic, which serves the large population of local native Indians. “My goal as a dentist is to be both exemplary in the profession and compassionate towards patients. Chapa-De Indian Health Program, Inc., has given me the opportunity to work for an underserved community, which I will continue to do,” says Dr. Hoang. “When I see a smile on one of my patients, it is very fulfilling. I am so grateful to the CDA Foundation for giving me the opportunity to stay here at Chapa De, This is a perfect fit for me.”
