Take A Closer Look at CAMBRA

CDA Foundation hosted a two-part series on Caries Management by Risk Assessment (CAMBRA) that was published in the October and November 2007 issues of the Journal of the California Dental Association. The October issue sets the stage with updated information relating to the application of CAMBRA risk assessment guidelines and clinical protocols for children and adults, as well as a review of the latest products available for dentists to employ CAMBRA in their offices. The November issue looks through the lens of practicing dentists who are using CAMBRA in their offices, how to establish financially viable models for CAMBRA adoption, as well as how to enlist the rest of the dental team and patients into the benefits of the CAMBRA approach to care. To access these publications online, visit cdafoundation.org/journal. To request a copy, please contact Tehani Purdy at tehani.purdy@cda.org or 800.736.7071, ext. 4920.

In December, Drs. John Featherstone and Doug Young, co-editors of these issues, along with Dr. Francisco Ramos-Gomez, hosted a webcast titled, “The Practitioner’s Guide to CAMBRA”. This webcast is archived in its entirety and now available online. We strongly encourage you to disseminate the information with others (dentists, hygienists, and RDAs) that may benefit from this course. This course is sponsored by CDA Foundation through a grant from First 5 California, and is approved to confer two continuing education credits.
