Julianne DiGiorno exams patient Michael McDermott at the recent Smiles For Kids Treatment Day on February 2. Dr. DiGiorno and father, Dr. Anthony DiGiorno, along with eight additional staff members volunteered time and services to provide much needed restorative care to area children that had been identified by school nurses.

The Foundation provided a grant to support the expenses related to the planning, preparation, promotion and execution of Sacramento District Dental Society Foundation’s Smiles For Kids project. The scope of the project includes screening, treatment and follow-up care program from SDDS member dentists, in partnership with area schools, community organizations to provide dental services to the uninsured children of their community's (Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, Amador and El Dorado Cos.) underprivileged families who have no other means for dental care.
