CDA Foundation News volume 1 issue 1 April 23, 2008
Since it began, more than 12,000 children have received oral health care and nearly 300 dentists have received free pediatric training, thanks to the Foundation’s Pediatric Oral Health Access Program.

Last Chance to Apply for Free Pediatric Training!

General dentists from all of California's counties are welcome to apply to receive free Pediatric training.

POHAP is a one-of-a-kind program that increases access to dental care for infants and children ages 0-12 years as well as patients with special health care needs. The program specifically targets underserved children that have no private insurance or are receiving public benefits (e.g. Denti-Cal or Healthy Families).*

Applicants will be selected through a competitive application process. Accepted applicants must complete 14 hours of online lectures by May 17, then attend an all-day training on May 18 in San Francisco.

In an effort to increase participation, the deadline to apply for the final offering of the Pediatric Oral Health Access Program (POHAP) has been extended to April 18. However, we are accepting applications until the classes are full.

For additional information or to apply, visit www.cdafoundation.org/programs_pohap.htm
or contact Brittney Ryan, POHAP program administrator, at 800.232.7645 ext. 4921 or brittney.ryan@cda.org.

*Upon completion, participants agree to expand their practice to include children and provide restorative treatment to 20 children at no charge to the patient within 1 year. Thereafter, participants will receive 22 units of Category 1 continuing education credit.
