Loma Linda University School of Dentistry donates $5,000 to the CDA Foundation’s Student Loan Repayment Grant Program.
Donor Spotlight: Loma Linda University
In appreciation for what the CDA Foundation is doing on behalf of the underserved and for what CDA is doing on behalf of dentistry, Loma Linda University School of Dentistry gifted the Foundation with a $5,000 contribution.
LLUSD Dean Charles Goodacre indicated that he understands these are difficult times and wanted to do something to show the school’s appreciation for what CDA Foundation and CDA do for dentistry. He specified that the gift was from the entire school - faculty, staff, students, and administration. He asked that the gift be earmarked for the CDA Foundation’s Student Loan Repayment Grant Program, which awards up to $105,000 in community service grants for new dentists to practice in underserved communities in California.
“I am delighted to have the School’s recent, unrestricted gift to the California Dental Association Foundation directed toward the Foundation’s Student Loan Repayment Grant Program. It is a pleasure for the School of Dentistry, its faculty, staff, and students, to express in a small way our appreciation for all that the California Dental Association contributes to the quality of dental education and the practice of dentistry in the State of California.”
The Foundation has awarded seven student loan community service grants to dentists that have now provided care to thousands of underserved patients across the state.
“This is a wonderful and generous gift from Loma Linda,” said CDA Foundation Chair Lindsey Robinson, DDS. “The Foundation is making a difference through many programs including the Student Loan Repayment Grant Program.”
