Be A (5-Year) Friend…Victor Hawkins, DDS

Victor Hawkins, DDS has no problem with commitments. He has been a committed and devoted dentist for more than 40 years to his patient base in Carmichael. He is now treating, in some cases, the grandchildren of his original patients.

Those who have the privilege of knowing Dr. Hawkins realize the compassion he has to help others. Like many dentists, he realizes he can only do so much individually but with partnering with the CDA Foundation, many more can receive care. This is why, according to Dr. Hawkins, he became a  five- year  Friend of the CDA Foundation, the annual gift fund. “I wanted to demonstrate my commitment to the good works of the Foundation,” said Dr. Hawkins.

Dr. Hawkins serves as co-chair with Mark Taira, DDS (also a five-year Friend) on the Friends Committee of the Creating Smiles…Changing Lives comprehensive campaign. “These are tough economic times and with everything the CDA Foundation is doing for the underserved in California, I thought, ‘why wouldn’t anybody want to do this?’”

As one aspect of the Foundation’s annual giving program, Friends of the CDA Foundation was developed as a donor club with of a minimum $1,000 annual gift. Many others are coming forward, like Dr. Hawkins, to commit their annual Friends gift for five years.
