Funds Help to Assess Children’s Oral Health in Sacramento County

The CDA Foundation recently granted funds to develop a report examining the state of oral health for children in Sacramento County and identify strategies for improving access to preventive and restorative care for all children.  The study resulted in the approval of two new children’s dental clinics for the area, as well as a study of Sacramento County’s Geographic Managed Care dental plan.

The report was developed by the Sacramento Children’s Dental Task Force, which is made up of volunteers that include representatives from throughout Sacramento County including dentists, school nurses, community agencies, advocates, county public health, dental and health plans.

The report will be disseminated to local public health agencies in May. To view the report, go to the What’s New section on cdafoundation.org.
