Be A Friend
The Be A Friend campaign that officially launched at the Spring Scientific Sessions this May successfully raised awareness and eyebrows at the bigger than life images of current CDA Friends of the Foundation, like Dr. Matthew J. Campbell, Jr.
The 14 Friends of the Foundation images seen at Sessions were designed to direct attendees to the Member Benefit Center where they were given a Be A Friend candy bar and learned about the CDA Foundation programs and activities. Ambassadors, volunteer leaders who are the Foundation’s spokespeople for Friends, were on hand to talk about the gift club and the program it supports, the CDA Foundation Grant Program. The Grant Program offers up to $25,000 grants to community clinics and other nonprofit programs that increase oral health care. The Foundation receives more than $1,000,000 in requests annually for the grant program and is currently able to fund approximately 10 percent of requests. The Be A Friend campaign’s goal is to increase the number of friends and therefore increase the amount of funding given out to the various programs and services. Currently, there are more than 200 Friends of the CDA Foundation generously giving from $1,000 to $10,000 annually.
