The CDA Foundation - Helping People Smile

Donor Profile: M. Sadegh Namazikhah – An Extraordinary Friend

M. Sadegh NamazikhahAs founding chair of the Friends of the CDA Foundation, the annual giving club that supports the CDA Foundation Grant Program, M. Sadegh Namazikhah, DMD, MSEd, is passionate about letting his colleagues know why they need to become a ‘friend’ as well. “Because of our successes in the dental profession, we owe it to society to give back,” says Dr. Namazikhah, “Frankly, there is nothing more rewarding, emotionally and spiritually, then having the privilege of helping others. That’s what I tell my colleagues about why they need to become involved in the CDA Foundation and become a Friend,” he added.

Dr. Namazikhah is tenacious about cultivating new Friends of the CDA Foundation. And, it has paid off. To date, he has personally signed up more than 20 new friends. He began by hosting the inaugural Friends of the CDA Foundation fundraising event on Aug. 13, 2005 at his home in Pacific Palisades. He felt having a party at home created a more informal and intimate setting in which the invited guests would have the opportunity to learn more about the Foundation and meet some of its leaders. He plans to host additional ‘Friend’ parties in the near future. “I am happy to open my home and invite people to become involved in the CDA Foundation,” says Namazikhah. “It helps create a network of people who will then go tell their colleagues what the Foundation is doing on behalf of our profession.

Good things have happened throughout California as a direct result of these charitable acts, but there is still more that needs to be accomplished. By becoming a Friend, we have the opportunity to expand these individual good works through our collective philanthropic support of the CDA Foundation.”

Friends of the CDA Foundation support the CDA Foundation Grant Program that offers up to $25,000 grants to local community clinics. More than $1 million in grant requests come in each year. Currently, the Foundation is able to provide funding to approximately 10 percent of the requests annually. The good news is that to date, more than $300,000 in community grants have been awarded. If you would like to join Dr. Namazikhah and become a Friend of the CDA Foundation, please contact Associate Executive Director Jennifer Stolo at 800.232.7645 Ext. 5374 or email jennifer.stolo@cda.org.
