Lindsey Robinson, DDS Heads Up Foundation as New Chair

Lindsey Robinson, DDS, was recently installed as CDA Foundation chair where she will serve up to a two-year term leading the board of directors and staff as they prepare for the public launch of the Creating Smiles…Changing Lives $39 million comprehensive campaign.

Dr. Robinson replaces Bruce Toy, DDS who served as chair of the Foundation for two years. He will continue on the board as immediate past chair. “Dr. Toy is a champion for increasing access to oral health care,” said Jon Roth CDA Foundation executive director. “ In his own community, he was instrumental in the opening of St. Raphael’s dental clinic in Stockton. His leadership by example has been an inspiration to fellow board members and staff.”

As incoming chair of the Foundation, Dr. Robinson says she is excited by the support the Foundation  received from members who recognize the value of the many programs it offers to provide care for the underserved of California. “To name just two,” says Dr. Robinson, “ the Student Loan Repayment Grant Program and the Mobile Grant Program reaches thousands of our most vulnerable groups like children and the fragile elderly.”

Dr. Robinson is a pediatric dentist with a full time practice in Grass Valley. She received her DDS from USC and her certificate in pediatric dentistry from the University of Florida in 1995. She is an active volunteer serving, in addition to her position as Foundation Board Chair, as President-elect of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, former chair of the CDA Council on Community Health, as an ADA delegate and is in her six year as a member of CAPIR (The Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations). She also represents the ADA on the advisory committee for Sesame Street Workshop’s Oral Health Initiative and is the liaison to the American Academy of Pediatrics, and helped to develop the Universal Health Care Task Force Report. On a local level, she co-chaired the dental health advisory board in her county, which was awarded a grant from the state of California’s First Five Commission to fund a community dental clinic, and is currently serving as an advisory committee member on a CDA Foundation Perinatal Oral Health project.

“I am looking forward to assisting our Foundation reach its goal of $39 million through the comprehensive campaign by expanding our donor base and promoting the many ways to give. This will allow us to take advantage of opportunities on topics like Perinatal Oral Health and CAMBRA (Caries Management By Risk Assessment), community water fluoridation, to increase grant activity to community based programs. I know this is an achievable goal,” says Dr. Robinson.
