Funds Help to Assess Childrens Oral Health in Sacramento County
The Foundation recently allotted funds to develop a report examining the state of oral health for children in Sacramento County and identify strategies for improving access to preventive and restorative care for all children, resulting in the approval of two new children’s dental clinics for the area, as well as a study of Sacramento County’s Geographic Managed Care dental plan.
The report was developed by the Sacramento Children’s Dental Task Force, which is made up of volunteers that include representatives from throughout Sacramento County including dentists, school nurses and support staff, community agencies, advocates, county public health and protection services, dental and health plans.
The report will be disseminated to local public health agencies in May.
